CHARLIE CHECK FIRST PROGRAM®
The CHARLIE CHECK FIRST PROGRAM is designed to be used as a full year school program starting with the CHECK FIRST PHILOSOPHY and continuing through the school year with additional safety lessons. The curriculum can be taught a little each day or each week. The system can also be used as single lessons depending on what you want the kids to learn.
The system is very unique in that, these lessons can be implemented in a variety of ways. Each core topic lesson has enough material and follow-up activities, they can be used by public safety for a quick school visit, after school programs, summer school, church functions, self defense classes, mom groups and in any other way you can imagine.
Each grade level has a PRE/POST EVALUATION to help identify what your students knowledge of safety is prior to implementing the curriculum and after. This will help to show administrators that the program is effective.
Each grade level additionally has follow-up material and handouts in the appendix that follow Gardner's "Multiple Intelligence Theory" which will help with children who have the capacity to learn in different ways.
Additionally, each grade level except for grade 5 has TEACHING POSTERS which are used to implement the curriculum. The TEACHING POSTER SYMBOLS are to be used with the TEACHING POSTERS.
All posters are available in 2 sizes and designed to be printed using card stock on printers, copy machines or taken to a print shop. We encourage the posters be laminated to ensure durability. The TEACHING POSTER SYMBOLS can be cut out and stored in a pocket at the back of the TEACHING POSTER. Simply use adhesive Velcro to attach to the TEACHING POSTERS when teaching the lessons.
